Kalu leads The Sun team to worship with Onitsha traders


Traders from all the sections had gathered around the White House, the headquarters of the Onitsha Main Market Amalgamated Traders Union (OMMATU) to praise and worship God, as they normally do every Monday.
When Kalu and The Sun team were introduced, the traders cheered and went into ecstacy, as the former governor led in praise and worship, singing two Christain songs.
Kalu had told the traders that he and his team team were passing through Onitsha and decided to participate in the morning devotion as an expression of love for God and them.
He advised the traders to continue being  steadfast in the things of God, as only God would lift them up in their businesses and other endeavours.
Earler in her sermon, the Guest Speaker,Prophetess Joy Chinyere of Victory Base Deliverance Ministry, 3-3, Onitsha, urged the traders to always be at alert in their spiritual lives.
She urged them to develop a new attitude towards re-organizing their lives to suit the ways of the Lord. She thanked The Sun team for not only showing interest in the things of God but also  for being the light with which Nigeria sees.
In his remarks, the Chairman of OMMATU, Chief Innocent Agudiegwu, said traders had, over the years, accepted The Sun as the “voice of the nation.”
He stated that The Sun remains the best in the country, adding: “If you have read The Sun, you have read all, but if you have not read The Sun, you have not read all newspapers.” The market leader thanked. Kalu for worshipping with the traders, noting that it showed a life full of humility. He thanked the former governor for all the assistance he had rendered to the union, particularly renovating its building.
Agudiegwu also disclosed that the market still remains the biggest in the entire West Affrica and therefore, needs the co-operation of everybody towards its socio economic development.
Addressing the traders, the  Managing Director/ Editor-in-Chief, The Sun Publishing Limited, Mr. Femi Adesina, who later donated N500, 000 on behalf of the company to the union, commended the traders for their resilience in worshipping God and unity of purpose in promoting commerce and industry in Nigeria.
He lauded them for putting God first, saying that this shows their love for God.  Mr. Adesina gave kudos to  the Igbo nation for being united in the Lord,  which he said is a great attribute, noting: “With what I have seen today, I now know the secret of Igbo nation. I now know that the Igbo nation puts God first in their endeavours.”
Among those who accompanied Dr. Kalu are Senator Emmanuel Onwe; Chief Emma Okewulomu, General Editor, The Sun, Mr. Steve Nwosu; Editor,  Daily Sun, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh and General Manager, Sales and Operations, Mr. Damola Olajumoke.
